Ever noticed how watching your favourite reality shows can leave you desperate to book a holiday? Well, that's probably because the teams working on these programme spend months scouting and choosing the perfect locations that'll look fabulous on TV (and make everyone watching jealous).

But where do they find these stunning villas? And where the heck is the Isle of Fernando's anyway? With summer on the horizon, we decided to do a little investigating to find out where some of our favourite reality shows are filmed and whether we can book them for our 2017 holiday.

1. I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!

We know it's filmed in the jungle, but which one?

Well, the first series was shot at King Ranch, near Tully, Queensland, in a purpose-built open-air studio next to a fast-moving creek. But since season two, the show has called Springbrook National Park in New South Wales home.

The camp is situated in a tiny place called Dungay at one of the southernmost points of the jungle, about 70 miles away from Brisbane. Unsurprisingly it's pretty tricky to get anywhere close to the site, and during filming the area is obscured by foliage.

2. Take Me Out

Ever fancied booking a sun-drenched getaway to Take Me Out's tropical island paradise, the Isle of Fernando's? Well, you can! Kind of... It's basically Paddy McGuinness' nickname for Tenerife. The winners of the show stay in Puerto de la Cruz on the northern coast of the island in a five-star hotel called Hotel Botanico & The Oriental Spa Garden.

3. First Dates Hotel

Last year, the Channel 4 series ditched its usual central London restaurant location Paternoster Chop House and jetted off to France for a summer special. Instead, the show was shot in Provence, France, at the stunning 13th century Le Vieux Castillon, which sits above a scenic valley in the commune of Castillon-du-Gard. The four-star hotel is open to the public with rooms starting at around £137 per night.

4. Love Island

You can't help but feel jealous whenever this show comes on. Not only do the contestants not need Instagram filters to look flawless, they get to film in heaven – aka Majorca, the biggest of the Balearic Islands.

The show's iconic villa is located in Ses Salines, a gorgeous town near the south-east coast. Unfortunately, you can't actually stay in the property because as it belongs to a French businesswoman who doesn't let it out to holidaymakers. But there are plenty of other villas to choose from on the island.

5. The Island with Bear Grylls

The Island is filmed in the stunning setting of Las Perlas, which sits roughly around 30 miles off the coast of Panama in Central America. The heavy rain showers and miserable contestants don't exactly sell this place – but trust us, it's picturesque in the sunshine.

Both islands (the Isla Gibraleon and Isla San Telmo) featured in the series weren't "discovered" until 1513 and to this day they are still uninhabited. So if you fancy a visit, you'd better take a tent as there aren't any hotels.

6.Ex on the Beach

Ex on the Beach changes location almost every year. It's previously been shot in Thailand, Mexico, Spain and Portugal. However, last year's series (which featured Geordie Shore stars Aaron Chalmers and Zahida Allen) was filmed in the Greek island of Crete.

The cast stayed in a luxury property called Villa Ble, which comes complete with its own penthouse suite and helipad. As seen in the show, the island is packed with things to do and places to visit including waterparks, beach parties and an impressive selection of restaurants.

7. The Jump

The Jump has been filmed in a stunning resort called Kühtai in the Austrian Alps. It's more than 2,000 metre above sea level and just a short train journey away from the Tyrol capital, Innsbruck.

Frustratingly you can't have a go for yourself on the infamous Jump Mountain as the slope isn't accessible to the public. Probably because it's extremely dangerous for the average skier. Ever wondered why there are so many medics on standby every single episode?
