Elizabeth Gutiérrez confirms her split from DWTS Alum William Levy: 'I couldn't give more, I gave everything'
Elizabeth Gutiérrez and William Levy have split up after 20 years together
In an honest interview with HOLA!, the 45-year-old Latin actress stated that the couple were no longer together, amidst swirling speculations and stories about their relationship status.
"I'm always betting on my relationship. I loved William, and it's no secret that he was the love of my life, as I always bet and wanted to present us as we were," she said, reflecting on the different experiences they shared over the course of their 20-year partnership.
"Currently, we are not together.
On my part, it was never for lack of love," Gutiérrez explained. "I think I'm not the same girl I was 20 years ago when he met me. What we want at this moment is different. I will always love and wish him the best, and as I have always said, being with me or not, I want to see him happy."
The telenovela star went on to say she "fell in love with his smile" and hoped Levy, 43, would keep doing so. Despite all of her reasons for staying, Gutiérrez stated, "There are some things that, if they do not change, you must change. And that was the only option I had.
When asked if she thought there was a chance she and the Dancing with the Stars alum will rejoin, the actress said she's leaving the decision to a higher power and that she's relying on her religion to get her through difficult times.

"I really feel, at this moment, that I'm in the middle of the ocean, and I'm surviving," she said. "My children are at peace because William is an amazing parent, and there is plenty of affection from both of us, so they are and will be well. Obviously, it wasn't ideal for either of us, but life happens, and you must move on. You have to demonstrate that even if you feel defeated in some way, you must keep your head up and move forward."
Gutiérrez stated that the couple's decision to end their relationship was "never based on superficial reasons," and that she was not influenced by public opinion or family members.
"I make my own decisions. I create them, I know when, and that's why people might see me at ease, joyful, because I know I couldn't give any more; I gave all," she said.
Gutiérrez and Levy met in 2003 while filming the reality show Protagonistas de novela 2. The couple married the same year and had two children, Christopher, who is now 18, and Kailey, who is 14.
Their breakup was confirmed two months after Florida police were called to their once-shared home for a domestic incident, according to PEOPLE.

The pair has reported several encounters to law enforcement since January, according to police incident reports obtained by PEOPLE. The most recent incident occurred on March 1, 2024, and involved their daughter Kailey, according to one of the police reports.
According to the police report, Kailey entered the family's home to collect some items when she heard a female voice coming from her parents' bedroom. When she attempted to enter, Levy allegedly "pushed her to prevent her from entering the bedroom."
The Cuban actor later denied pushing her and stated that he would never intentionally harm his daughter before saying he was alone.
The report stated that there were "no marks, redness, or signs of injury" on Kailey, indicating a physical altercation. She and her mother eventually took their personal stuff and departed the house.
Levy has made many Instagram pictures dedicated to his daughter. On March 24, Levy shared a video of Kailey behind the wheel as he taught her how to drive. "This are the moments I live for " he captioned the image, adding, "My children [are] my life. "
On May 1, he published a fan account snapshot of himself and Kailey on Instagram Stories, along with a red heart.
