Lyric McHenry has been pronounced dead after she was found half-naked in a New York street.

The 26-year-old star of Rich Kids Of Beverly Hills spin-off show EJNYC was reportedly 20 weeks pregnant when she was found 'sprawled' near the Alexander Hamilton Bridge by the Harlem River in the Bronx in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

"On Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at approximately 0505 hours, police encountered a 26-year-old female, unconscious and unresponsive, lying on the sidewalk in the vicinity of Undercliff Avenue and Boscobel Place," NYPD police said in a statement.

"There were no obvious signs of trauma observed. EMS responded to the location and transported the aided female to Bronx Lebanon Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death. The investigation remains ongoing."

Lyric was the 26-year-old reality star who, when she wasn't starring alongside sister Maya McHenry with their friend EJ Johnson on his E! reality show EJNYC, turned her hand to online campaigning and TV production.

She ran her own YouTube channel and produced videos like Lingo With Lyric, which aimed to explore the issues around the 'post-race' presidential election of 2016.

Lyric was also fiercely passionate about race equality and had recently graduated Stanford university with a degree in Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity.

As well as younger sister Maya, Lyric had a brother, Etienne Maurice, and lived with housemate Rob Frank, who she paid tribute to in April this year with a sweet birthday message.

At the time, her mum Jennifer thanked Rob "for loving and protecting my daughter" for the last year they were living together.

Her father, TV producer Doug McHenry, is yet to publicly speak about her death.

Aside from her TV and YouTube work, Lyric worked on Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign as a teenager.

Last year she shared a snap of herself hugging Michelle Obama and thanked her, writing: "Working for this campaign made my awkward stage at 15 so much doper.

"Thank you to the Obamas for inspiring us, leading with love and intellect, bringing art and artists to the White House, and also Sasha and Malia."

No cause of death has officially been confirmed yet as investigations are ongoing.

It's expected that the New York Medical Examiner will carry out an autopsy and run toxicology tests to determine whether Lyric died from something she ingested.

It's been reported that she was found with a ziplock bag of cocaine on her person and traces of the class A drug on her skin and clothes, but cops have not released further details yet.

She was found wearing just a top "without pants" when her body was discovered sprawled by the side of the road.

Cops are now looking into whether she was 'dumped' while overdosing.

While neither Lyric nor her family members confirmed her pregnancy, US media are reporting that authorities believe she was expecting and was half-way through her pregnancy.

Detectives are still piecing together Lyric's final movements in the lead up to her death.

She'd been prolific on Instagram the evening before she died, tagging herself in her Stories in a number of New York locations - including The Frederick Hotel, SoHo Grand Hotel and Dream Downtown.

It's believed she was celebrating her birthday, which was on August 6, as she had posted videos of her friends posing with her and wishing her a happy belated birthday.

The final upload, shared approximately three hours before she was found dead, shows her blowing a kiss to camera as a man standing beside her says: "It's her birthday."

Sister Maya also shared Instagram Stories from their night, including one of her sister and a male pal posing together.

"Happy birthday to my sister... she looks so bomb! It's a joke," Maya says as Lyric poses.

It came after a number of her loved ones wished her all the best for her big day, including her heartbroken mum Jennifer McHenry.

"Happy 26 years my beautiful princess Lyric Leigh," she captioned a throwback picture of them cuddling up together.

Lyric's sister Maya had also posted a gushing message to her, writing on Instagram: "Happy Birthday to my beautiful sister :) I’m so lucky to have you in my life and that YOU’RE my big sister.

"I wouldn’t choose anyone else! Your wisdom and talent amazes me more and more each day. I love you Lyric and thank you for always supporting me and having my back," Maya added.

And Lyric's friend and co-star EJ Johnson - son of Magic Johnson - had written: "Happy birthday to my best friend who has strutted with my in princess gowns since day 1 @lyric_leigh words cannot express how much I love and appreciate you in my life.

"Your constant love, respect and companionship gives me the confidence to live my truth every single day and I am so blessed that even as baby divas we recognized the greatness in each other. I love you #leoseason #teamthis ."

EJ and her sister are yet to comment on her death, but her mum Jennifer is said to be distraught.

One of her mum's friends told Radar Online: "We had to send her mother to the hospital to calm her down."
