Love Island has got a reputation for itself as one of the raunchiest reality shows around - and there's no doubt about why, given that the Islanders can't keep their hands off each other.

But in its four years on air, there have been more than a few risk-takers who have flouted the strict rules of the villa.

Each contestant is handed a thick rule book before they go on and told to familiarise themselves with all the regulations - which include never having drunk sex, sleeping with someone else without a condom, and no masturbating in front of each other.

But there's a few sneaky rules the contestants have bent over the years - here's who got into trouble for their Love Island antics.

2018: Georgia Steel and Sam Bird sharing a sofa

Just this week, Georgia and Sam had to decide whether they wanted to leave the villa as a couple or stay on as singletons, with the proviso that they must get to know other people and cannot couple up with each other again at the next recoupling.

Sure enough, they each decided to stay - but just hours after making that choice, they were already snogging each other secretly.

And viewers called for them to be chucked out for breaking the rules by sleeping on the sofa together, rather than staying in separate beds.

It came after Dani Dyer warned Georgia her decision to stay would end in tears if she saw Sam moving on first.

2016: Malia Arkian kicked out for shoving Kady McDermott

Two years ago, Malia became the first (and so far only) Islander booted out of the villa without being evicted after she got involved in a physical altercation with Kady.

Their spat started when Kady - who was already frosty with Malia for taking her beau Scott Thomas out on a date - accidentally spilled some of her wine on her rival's leg.

"Did you do that deliberately?" Kady asked, which sparked a foul-mouthed showdown between the pair.

It culminated in Malia shoving Kady off-camera, after which she was told to pack her bags and leave the villa immediately.

She later apologised to Kady and said she "completely regretted" her actions.

2016: Terry Walsh and Emma-Jane Woodham's shocking romp

In a move that went drastically wrong, new couple Ter and Emma started having sex on top of their covers in the mistaken belief ITV wouldn't be able to air such a graphic scene.

They were wrong, and millions of viewers were treated to the sight and sound of the pair going at it right in front of their shocked villa-mates.

The incredibly rude bedroom scene came ten minutes after the watershed - and just hours after new girl Emma vowed not to have sex on TV.

Oops.

2016: Zara Holland and Alex Bowen's X-rated Hideaway sesh

Turns out 2016 was quite the year for Love Island scandals - but this was the one that truly divided the nation.

Zara and Alex shared a night in the Hideaway and cameras captured Zara's smug expression after she performed a sex act on him.

Unfortunately for her, Miss Great Britain - who had crowned her their queen that year - decided she wasn't a good role model for enjoying herself sexually on national TV and decided to strip her of her title.

"I did Miss Great Britain because I wanted to," a devastated Zara told her fellow Islanders after the news was broken to her.

"It's something I wanted to do. And if you put that hard work in and the commitment and the time and the effort…I did and I won, and I worked so hard. And now I just made one silly, stupid mistake of being in the moment has ruined everything."

The beauty pageant came under fire for sacking Zara, and her co-star Sophie Gradon won hearts across the land for her impassioned plea to move into the 21st century and not blame women for liking sex.

2017: Amber Davies and Kem Cetinay's pool sex

Last year's Love Island winners became known for their frisky sex life, as they couldn't stop doing it all around the villa.

Rather than leaving their kinky actions for under the bedsheets, Kamber got naked everywhere they could think of - including in the swimming pool in broad daylight while the other Islanders floated on inflatables above their heads.

"We were hiding under the turtle," Kem later confessed.

"Camilla saw us and just went, 'Oh my God'."

"I think we ruined Camilla's birthday," Amber also quipped.
