Warren Phillips is ditching Gloucester for the South African Savannah as he competes in ITV2's new reality show - Survival Of The Fittest.

The tattooed hunk is putting down his drill and hoping to charm the ladies, but admits it will always be mates before dates.

The 29-year-old, who once won a local modelling competition called 'The Face of Gloucester', has some celebrity connections.

His staggering claim to fame is being followed by Vicky Pattison and Miss Egypt on Instagram.

Here is everything you need to know about Warren:

What is your unique selling point?

My tattoos and the size of me because I like to train.

What is the appeal of Survival of the Fittest for you?

The activities and going head-to-head with the opposite sex. I’m looking forward to the mental and physical challenges.

Who do you think are the stronger sex and why?

The stronger sex physically are males but when it comes to mentally, I’d say the females would tip that one. Girls are more strong minded than men. I think they can handle more. They can be more switched on. Men can only do one thing at a time whereas girls can multi task.

And why do you think the Boys should win Survival of the Fittest?

The girls will compete against the boys (

Because I’m a boy and I’m going to be on the Boys team so it’ll be good if we can bond together, create a unit and go and win it.

What is your secret strength that stands you in good stead for this battle of the sexes?

My charm. I can fool the opposition, I can talk to the girls and make them believe that I like them and they might fall for me. Where really it could all be a front.

Do you have any weaknesses that you’ll want to conceal during the show?

I get easily distracted so if a mental challenge doesn’t go right the first or second time, I don’t think I can do it. But if a challenge is physical, I’ll be able to keep going.

Are you open to love or will you be steering clear of the enemy?

I am going in open-minded. I don’t want to go in with a tactic or a game, I want to take every day and every challenge as it comes.

What is your usual type?

I like nice eyes and teeth. I work out so a nice body is always good too.

How would you describe yourself and how would your mates describe you?

My friends would say I’m a perfectionist when it comes to things like my hair, trainers and dress sense. I don’t like to take myself too seriously and like to have a laugh about things. Hopefully people would say I have good humour.

What type of Girl and Boy would be your nightmare in The Lodge?

A guy that is all about him – me me me. A girl who is the same, if everything revolves around her and she is a diva, she’ll be my nightmare.

What are you hoping the others will be like?

I want everyone to be on the same wavelength. I want the boys to want to go out and do well in the challenges. I don’t like anyone too hyper or loud so would like everyone to be level headed and keep their eyes on the prize.

What is your biggest fear about living in The Lodge?

People seeing my bad habits if I have any that I haven’t recognised myself. And I won’t look like my Instagram pictures first thing in the morning!

What most excites you about Survival of the Fittest?

Laura Whitmore will be hosting the new ITV2 show from South Africa (

I can’t wait to start the challenges because I have no idea what they will consist of. I can’t wait to get in The Lodge and have that camaraderie with everyone.

You’ll be living in The Lodge in South Africa – where is the most exotic place you’ve ever been?

I’ve never really ventured out of Europe to be honest. I’ve been to Spain, Portugal. New York is the furthest I’ve been and I wouldn’t call that ‘exotic’!

What is your claim to fame?

Back when I was 20, I entered a local modelling contest called ‘The Face of Gloucester’ and I won that. Some famous people follow me on Instagram – Miss Egypt. And Vicky Pattison followed me once but I didn’t follow her back, I only follow people I know.

Dates or Mates?

Mates.

* Survival of the Fittest starts on Sunday 11th Feb at 9pm on ITV2
