What is “The Amazing Race?”
Created by Elise Doganieri and Bertram van Munster, the multi-Emmy Award-winning reality television series first aired in 2001. The “race” is divided into legs, with each leg involving teams of two people traveling to a new location. In each leg, teams must complete various tasks, like Detours and Roadblocks. Teams are eliminated when they’re the last to arrive at the Pit Stop at the end of each leg.
Season 37 gives us a look at 14 teams of two who each hope to reach and win the final destination. Those winners will get to take home $1 million.
