Chen Hsin Wei in 2020: 'Youth With You 2' 'Daylight'

Before she captured the hearts of K-pop fans, she initially made her name familiar among Chinese fans after joining the reality show, "Youth With You 2," as an idol trainee from YueHua Entertainment.

The broadcast is the Chinese version of Korea's "Produce 101." The show received attention from K-pop fans as BLACKPINK Lisa appeared in the show as a dance mentor.

Unfortunately, Chen Hsin Wei didn't make it in the final cut and was eliminated in the 16th episode after ranking No. 40.

In October 2020, Yue Hua, home to K-pop artists such as UNIQ, EVERGLOW, WJSN, and TEMPEST, announced that Chen Hsin Wei is preparing for her debut and joined the pre-debut girl group DAYLIGHT as ViVi.

In July 2021, it was announced that the idol aspirant joined Mnet's "Girls Planet 999," a reality show that aims to produce a multinational girl group comprising nine members.

When she was introduced, Hsin Wei immediately made everyone turn their heads at her innocent beauty and smile. She also became the crowd's favorite for her hilarious personality following her iconic "ugly" remark on the actor and MC Yeo Ji Goo.

in context, she accidentally called Yeo Jin Goo "ugly" in Korean. She made the rookie mistake of using "mot-sang-gida" (ugly) instead of using the word "jal-sang-gida" (handsome) to describe Yeo Jin Goo's appearance.

The Taiwanese trainee who was clueless about what she said was corrected by Chinese staff and immediately apologized, clarifying that she meant to say he was handsome.

This incident brought laughter to other trainees and Yeo Jin Goo, particularly when he called out Chen Hsin Wei, saying, "I don't also find myself good-looking."

Chen apologized and corrected herself many times personally, creating waves of laughter for her genuine expressions.

Unfortunately, she was eliminated following the third round of eliminations. According to fans, aside from the fact that there are more talented and skilled trainees compared to Hsin Wei, her support of China's article calling the Korean War"'Anti-American Aid" War didn't sit well among Koreans and caused her to lose Korean fans.

Where Is Chen Hsin Wei In 2022? Trainee Opens Instagram, Debut As Actress

After going back to her hometown, her supporters anticipated Chen Hsin Wei/ViVi's debut with other Daylight trainees. However, she opened a personal Instagram account in December 2021, raising speculations that her debut will not happen anytime soon.

She continuously communicated with fans through Instagram and Weibo, and updates on her activities through vlogs. Vivi also landed various modeling jobs and was invited to appear in various Chinese shows.

While her debut as an idol is not yet certain, ViVi Chen starter her acting career as she challenged her debut on the big screen. It is her first time acting, but she will already play the leading role named Si Tian Yi.

The movie is called, "2 Driving Girls," and she'll act along with Mi Mi, Yao Chi and Hu Chun Yang.
