In the last few weeks, Rashami Desai has been in the news for different reasons. She entered 'Bigg Boss 14' as a celeb visitor, giving contestant Vikas Gupta a pep talk. There have also been rumours about her closeness with Vikas and how because of that she managed to bag 'Naagin 4', a rumour that Rashami had denied. But despite being the subject of the gossip mill in the past few weeks, the actress says that she would rather focus on her work than dwell on controversies.
Rashami also tells us that she has "a lot of work with which I'll surprise my fans and you'll know about it very soon”.
'2020 taught me many things'
Rashami says that like everyone else, last year was an unusual experience for her, but if there’s one lesson that she has learnt, it is to be happy and content. “I think, we literally forgot about ourselves in this fast-paced life and the time we got in 2020 was much needed, but the way we got it (the time) was unpredictable. We all have been running after our dreams and chasing achievements that were not really relevant. At times, we don't value the people we have in our lives and sometimes, we don't even value and respect ourselves. And I think that's what the whole world has realized this time," says Rashami, adding, "As for me, I am happy and content with myself, 2020 was an amazing experience, it taught me many things. I realised that my biggest achievement after working in the television industry lay in the amount of love that I have received."
'On reality shows, one gets to learn from one's mistakes'
The actress says that after doing a fair number of daily soaps and reality shows on the small screen -'Uttaran','Bigg Boss 13' and 'Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 6', among others - she feels that both have their advantages, but she enjoys doing reality shows the most. “When you are a part of any reality show, you get the opportunity to challenge yourself to have a different kind of experience in life. One gets to learn from one’s mistakes and when people who watch you religiously (or even those who don’t) talk about you as a person and your work, you feel good. Reality shows are something I enjoy the most. I feel fiction is a dream world where everyone wants to live in,” says Rashami.

'Life's unpredictable, I just want to go with the flow'
Rashami says that in 2021, she will be focussing on getting a good script. “The beginning was really good this year. Last year has taught us a lot of amazing and unexpected things, so this year I have not decided that I am going to do this or that because life is very unpredictable and you don't know what is going to happen. I just want to go with the flow. And the most important thing, I am going to concentrate on the script that I am going to choose. Work is the most important thing and that brings me happiness. It defines me and I am looking for an amazing script, but I am not going to be in a hurry this time,” she says.
'Travelling helps me a lot'
Rashami, who recently travelled to Himachal and visited the Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu, says that travelling gave her a much-needed break. “I went to Himachal and then Jammu and I have visited quite a few places in the last few months. When I was in 'Bigg Boss', I realised that I have only been working and I haven’t given any kind of a treat to myself, so as I was focusing more on myself I decided to travel. Traveling helps me a lot,” she says.
