The Bachelor alum Kendall Long apparently doesn't want to see her ex-boyfriend Joe Amabile on Bachelor in Paradise this summer, admitting that watching him fall in love with someone else would "suck so, so much."

The former The Bachelor and The Bachelorette contestants who will search for love on Bachelor in Paradise's seventh season premiering August 16 on ABC have yet to be announced, but Kendall is hoping "Grocery Store Joe" isn't one of them.

"It would be so hard," Kendall, 29, said on the Monday episode of The Ben and Ashley I: Almost Famous Podcast.

When imagining herself and Joe on the same BIP season again, Kendall admitted, "I would not want to watch him fall in love with someone else. Definitely not. That would suck so, so much."

Kendall and Joe, who fell in love on Season 5 of Bachelor in Paradise in 2018, announced their "amicable" decision to split back in January 2020 after more than one year of dating and even talking about an engagement.

"I want him to be happy. I want him to find love -- but not in front of my face," Kendall said.

Kendall confessed if she finds out Joe is appearing on Bachelor in Paradise this summer, it "might" deter her from going and she'd most likely turn down the opportunity.

"I still have a tremendous amount of love for him," Kendall noted, adding that it "would just be really difficult" to date other people in the same environment.

"And he had mentioned before -- I think in another podcast -- that there were girls he was interested in that were in past seasons," Kendall shared.

"So I'm like, 'If he's going on there with someone in mind, I don't necessarily know if I have anyone in mind that I would go on there for.' So I would just be signing up for another heartbreak."

And Kendall acknowledged signing up for heartbreak "doesn't sound logical," although "love is not logical."

On whether she'd be willing to date in Paradise solo -- if Joe decided not to participate -- Kendall replied, "I'm not sure."

"There are so many people who have been on the show who didn't have their chance at Paradise last season... There will be blood [during casting]! And people have seen enough of me, I think," Kendall explained.

"So, I want someone else to experience falling in love that way because it is so amazing and you can't really experience it anywhere else. I just feel like there are so many amazing women who are deserving of that."

Kendall and Joe announced their split last year after moving in together in Los Angeles in April 2019.

Both Joe and Kendall have confirmed location "definitely" played the biggest role in their breakup, as Joe would like the option to relocate to his home state of Chicago one day but Kendall always wants to stay in Los Angeles near her friends and family, including her twin sister.

"I learned so much from that relationship. That was the relationship I feel like I just threw so much trust in and right off the bat was honest and open. I think that really expedited the relationship in a lot of ways," Kendall said on the Almost Famous podcast.

"It was the first relationship I actually saw, potentially, turning into a marriage. That was something very new for me."

She continued, "It was a gift to get to experience that from him, and so I think every single person that I date, I'm looking for that next level of connection."

And Kendall has, in fact, "been on dates" recently.

"I mean, dating in L.A. in general is difficult," Kendall noted. "But I've definitely put myself out there and I've been open to it, and I've had some good dates. There's some good vibes about that. We'll see, we'll see."

There is apparently one man in particular who has caught Kendall's eye.

"I've gone on a couple dates with somebody," she revealed, "and, you know, I'm down to go on more dates."

On potentially reconciling with Joe down the road, Kendall said, "I think that there would be a few things that would have to happen in order for me -- or for both of us -- to probably see a future. I think that our end-goal is very different."

"Unless he shifts that, I don't know. But Joe is so great."

Joe said on his Click Bait podcast in December 2020 that Kendall would never even entertain the idea of moving to Chicago.

"For me, there's a line there, where I'm just like, 'Well, if you're not willing, then I don't know.' Because you never know what's going to happen in the future," Joe shared.

"And the way I looked at it was, what am I doing in L.A. at the time? There was not really much for me to do there. I didn't want to be the guy that was on a reality show, just living off of, 'Oh, I was on The Bachelor a year ago! Look at me! Yay!' So I needed something else, and yeah."

Joe first competed for Becca Kufrin's heart on The Bachelorette's fourteenth season and then met Kendall on Season 5 of Bachelor in Paradise in Summer 2018.

Since the pair have broken up, they've attempted to stay friends and maintain a good relationship.

Fans were shocked when Kendall and Joe's breakup was announced because the pair had just teased they could be getting engaged soon in December 2019.

Kendall and Joe's relationship initially got off to a rocky start when Kendall blindsided and dumped Joe during the penultimate episode of Bachelor in Paradise's fifth season after he professed how he was falling in love with her.

Kendall found herself making a stream of excuses on the beach in Mexico as to why their relationship wouldn't work, but Joe called her out for simply being unaware of her feelings for him or not reciprocating them at all.

Joe therefore left Paradise confused and heartbroken, while Kendall clearly felt there was more she could have said and the pair had unfinished business.

"I felt an immediate regret as soon as Joe walked away... I kept running away from the fact that I was falling for him," Kendall admitted to People in September 2018.

"I went into Paradise thinking you need to date, you need to be open-minded, you need to experience people... I also had so much fear about getting hurt... It freaked me out to think I would invest myself in him and then it would break apart after the romantic beach vacation was over."

However, Kendall flew straight to Chicago after the show wrapped to talk to Joe again in-person and apologize, and she expressed to him on-camera, "I am in love with you."

It took some time for Joe to trust Kendall again, but the couple ultimately reconciled and rekindled their romance in the real world. Joe, without a doubt, was in love with Kendall as well.

Joe subsequently competed on Season 27 of Dancing with the Stars in Fall 2018 in Los Angeles, and he was able to remain close to Kendall at the time given she lives there.

Their relationship blossomed from there until Joe apparently realized he didn't want to stay in California.
